N.B. Depending on the context, different subjects may be supplied in sentences of Active voice. Let's take two examples from the above exercise.

1. Guwahati is called the gateway to the Northeast.

We can use the following subjects:

People call Guwahati the gateway to the Northeast.
We call Guwahati the gateway to the Northeast.
They call Guwahati the gateway to Northeast.

2. They were refused admission.

We can supply the subject as:

The authority refused them admission.
They refused them admission.
We refused them admission. (The authority makes the statement in the third sentence).
